Tesla NACS vs CCS: the Charging-Standard War
For years North America had two rival EV fast-charging connectors: Tesla’s proprietary plug and the industry’s CCS. Between 2023 and 2025, essentially every major automaker abandoned CCS and adopted Tesla’s connector — now the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
