Tesla Cybercab enters production
Tesla’s purpose-built, steering-wheel-free Cybercab robotaxi enters production at Giga Texas, built on a radical “unboxed” assembly process.

In mid-February 2026, the first production Cybercab rolled off the line at Giga Texas, with Tesla ramping toward volume production targeted around April 2026. The Cybercab is Tesla's first vehicle designed from the ground up for autonomy: a two-seat robotaxi with no steering wheel or pedals, aimed at a sub-$30,000 price.
Its manufacturing is as radical as the car. Tesla is using an "unboxed" process — building major modules in parallel and joining them late — rather than a conventional sequential assembly line, with a stated long-term goal of producing a vehicle roughly every 10 seconds and capacity scaling toward 2 million units a year once fully ramped.
The Cybercab is the physical centerpiece of Tesla's robotaxi strategy. (Production volumes and the 2M/yr capacity figure are Tesla targets that remain to be demonstrated at scale.)
